the story
The visionary and brilliant duo of Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty, architects of the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, needs no introduction. With Studio KO, architecture becomes a silent presence, never seeking attention, always revealing its surroundings. Their approach blends artisanal craftsmanship, vernacular inspiration and a deep sense of context, aiming not for trends but for timelessness.
Villa D is their first project in Morocco and a manifesto.
Its bold lines, raw textures, controlled openings and almost monastic presence express a profound understanding of the Moroccan landscape. Here, restraint replaces spectacle, sensory power outweighs effect, and each volume enters into a rare dialogue with nature.
Between Architecture and Nature
Designed first as a family home rather than an architectural icon, Villa D balances radical design with warmth and conviviality. Behind its pared-back gesture lie spaces conceived for sharing: living rooms with their fireplaces, a library-lounge, a TV lounge, a dramatic dining room, enfilade bedrooms, a grand master suite upstairs, and two independent pavilions designed to preserve privacy.
Set within a 6-hectare estate, complemented by a 25-metre infinity pool and expansive outdoor areas, Villa D invites guests to inhabit the architecture as much as the surrounding nature.

A striking rammed-earth structure, encircled by sentinel palms, Villa D is set within a landscape of rare variety: sequential gardens, walled enclosures topped with dried junipers, and, in the distance, the Atlas Mountains with their snow-capped peaks. At the end of the olive-lined avenue, it emerges from its verdant setting, where kitchen garden, orchard, lawns, and desert-like heath alternate in perfect harmony.
The estate orchestrates a dialogue between the shadows and light of Marrakech, verticality and horizon lines, sky and the reds of the earth. Here, each season leaves its mark and is lived intensely.
